Removing unwanted icons

I have unwittingly allowed some connections to a couple
of sites which i want to remove. I have removed the
programs from the desktop but they still appear in the
icons along the bottom righthand corner of my
pc.Everytime i sign in again the sites are listed in my
main desktop selection. How do I erase these once and for
all?
 
You'll need third party spyware removal tools. Two popular examples are
AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy. Find them on the Internet.
