Removing Unwanted Download

I inadvertently downloaded a program that installed itself
in a program folder called eZula.

I'm running Windows XP Home SP 1.

The program does not appear in the "Remove" list.

If I try to delete the folder I get an error
message: "Cannot delete CHCON.dll: Access is denied.
Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected and
that the file is not currently in use."

This thing also corrupted my Google tool bar in IE and
replaced it with some hideous "Search Engine" with all
kinds of casino/porn popups.

What is the best way to get rid of this program and all
its components?

Hi,

Install some anti adware-spyware software and it will clean out your PC.

My suggestion is Ad-Aware Software (free version).

You can get Ad-Aware from this address
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/

Don't forget to update it after you install it and every once in a while
after that -- it works just like anti virus software. Updateing works over
WebUpdate button on the top.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Another great tool is Spybot Search & Destroy. It's
freeware, comes out of Germany (I think) and has a list
of over 8000 spyware signatures. It has advanced and
easy modes. Get it from http://security.kolla.de .
After you install, be sure to run the update feature to
get the latest definitions. Good luck!!!
