removing trial version

We downloaded a trail version of Excel 2007 on our computer, and now that it
has expired we cannot open any Excel documents, or create new ones in our old
version of Excel, because they convert to the trial version when saved. We
also cannot remove the Excel trial version from our program list, because we
receive the error message "the language of this installation package is not
supported by your system." How can we fix this problem?

I know nothing about the Excel 2007, but I have been thinking about
downloading the trial. Can you do a "Save As" and save as 2003? Are you
saying that you have tried that and it automatically switches to 2007? Just
curious.

We tried doing a "save as" 2003, but yes, it automatically switches and then
cannot be opened.

Well, that's tough. I sure won't be downloading the 2007 any time soon.
Thanks for your response.

to open the files you might want to try checking the control panel>folder
options>file types and make sure the XLS files shows your old version of
excel and not excel 2007
