Subject: Removing read only attribute

Hi, I am using Windows 2003 Server.
I see that when opening the properties of a directory
the read only check box is checked but gray.
I need to remove this attribute. When uncheking it
and then apply and ok,
then opening the properties again,
the read only attribute is checked.
How can I remove this attribute?
Thanks
Alon

Apparently, you can't! This seems to be the way MS as made the attributes
for folders.

That only indicates indeterminate. Windows ignores the setting so
"nothing to change".

What you're seeing is the third state of a three-state check box. It
means that the attribute is does not apply here. It's trying to tell
you that the read-only attribute is meaningless for folders.
