I have Win XP and would like to know if I can merge my for partitions/logical
drives into one big drive (C: only). I would prefer to do this without
buying Partition Magic, etc.

The only way you can do this non-destructively is with third-party
partitioning software. Partition Magic is one program; BootIT NG is
another.

You'll have to buy something as Windows does not include what you need.

You would have to get such a third party program - If I did it at all,
which I probably would not, I would use BootIT NG, from
http://www.BootitNG.com ($35 shareware - 30 day full functional trial)

Or else be prepared to delete the entire content of the drive and start
over
