Removing Partial Install

I inadvertently began to reinstall Windows XP. Upon
realization I stopped the install with no apparent damage
to the fully installed copy. Upon booting I now have two
startup options, one to start the fully installed XP, and
the other to continue the aborted install. To make
matters worse the aborted install is the default startup.
Is there a way to remove the partial install?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ted,

Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab, click on the line that
references the desired installation, then on "set as default". Then click
the button to "check all boot paths". It should offer to remove the unwanted
one. If it does not, you can manually edit boot.ini and remove it. You will
find that it is a hidden system file on the root of the boot partition, and
it can be opened in notepad (click file/open, and in the file name line type
in C:\boot.ini).
