I'm working with a spreadsheet/form in Excel 2000 (calculates estimated
relocation costs) that has an old link to a non-existent workbook -- it was
developed from another spreadsheet but is a stand-alone form and there is no
need to update, as must have been the case with the original. The resulting
pop-ups are a problem. I don't work with queries or macros... at least, not
until now, so don't know how to eliminate the unnecessary link(s). Any
suggestions are appreciated.

Try going to Edit | Links.
This should list all the links in the workbook.
select the link you want and pick break link.

Frank, in researching my problem (cancelling a link in Excel2000) I saw your
name often, so I thought I'd give your suggestion. It did n't work for me.
I have a book that I don't want linked to anything. Break Link is not
available to me under EDIT, LINKS.
Any other suggestions?

Try that findlink.zip program.

It'll look for links and ask what should be done with them (convert to values?).
