Removing invalid domain names

We recently created a new domain and migrated all our
users to it. However our users being typical users keep
selecting the old domain name from the drop down box on
the logon screen.
How can I remove the old domain name from the list? I
have done this before but cannot find my notes on how I
did it, it involved altering permissions on a system file
as I recall.

This domain appears because there is a trust to the old domain. Remove the trust and the option to logon to the old domain will
not appear.
