Removing date and day of the week from taskbar

Hello there!

When I move my taskbar to the right side of the desktop, then
notification area not only displays the time, but also the date and the
day of the week. I find this information useless and would like to
remove it but still need time to be displayed!

Is there any way to remove date and day of the week info from the
taskbar but leave the clock?

Maybe some registry tweak?

Thanks for your help!

I like my taskbar on the left side but I also dislike the date/day of
week. An easy fix is to unlock the taskbar, drag the side to make it
thinner, and then lock it again. It still displays the time, but it is
not as wide so it doesn't display date or day of week.

Thanks for your reply.

Are there are any better options though? I like the taskbar to be quite
wide so that I can see descritpions of windows (i.e. their titles).
When I shrink it to display time only, it's not wide enough I'm
afraid...

The balloon popup will give you the info without wasting the desktop
real estate.
