Removing Audio Noise in WMV files

When I capture video from my old Panasonic Analog
camcorder I seem to get some "noise" in the audio part of
the WMV file that is created.

The noise is like a soft bzzzzz. I am pretty sure it is
the sound coming out of the camcorder (it is very old and
had been trown around a bit).

My question is: Do you know if there is a freeware
program out there that can remove or at least reduce the
audio noise on a WMV file?

Hi there,

One thing you can take a look at, and this is assuming that you have a
microphone plugged into your system (other than anything on your camera that
is)

Double click the small loudspeaker icon that is hopefully in your system
tray and Mute the microphone.

If no speaker icon, click Start > Settings > Sounds and Audio Devices > then
on the new dialog box select the Volume Tab then Advanced and then mute the
microphone. Phew!!

If none of that works, you might want to think about the relative positions
of computer monitor and camera...put as much distance as is reasonably
possible between them...DO NOT consider buying a longer cable...Analog
signals can degrade real quick. But you might want to do a test where you
turn the monitors power off once recording has started...and see what
happens when you play it back.

And if that fails...I give in...at least for the moment anyway!
