Removing all users from XP

How can I remove all traces of the user profiles from xp home.
Right now I have an account that is the active one, ie: all files are being
saved in its "my doc" tree, but I'm actually signed in on another acccount,
and it's the only account that shows up on the log in screen.
I would really like to start over without re-installing.

I could just tell you how to fix that, but first I would like to pose a
question.

Just why is it that there are always hundred of questions from you, or
someone that posts like you, on every NG related to computer probs or
info??

Are you a bot?

Or just maybe someone with way, way too much time on their hands.
Speaking of hands ... how many sock-puppets can you get in each?

At the very least you raise questions that stimulate informative
responses from others. (Doesn't hurt your database none does it?)

For that I offer my heart-felt thanks.

Oh yeah, the tell.

As administrator, go into control>panel>users> and fix it there. If you
don't have access to the admin account best get over to the warez groups
and find a hack.

First off, bot? no, NG what's that?

Your "fix" dosen't work, the only accounts that show in the Control panel,
Users, are the guest acct. and the one I am logged in to, (it is an Admin.
acct.) except that the one that I am logged in on, the active account isn't
the one that is being used in the profiles for saving things to "my
Documents", that's another account that was created by me earlier and
deleted, (obviously not), and that account dosen't show up anywhere except in
"My Documents" and "Task Manager" under users, (and who knows where else?).

My current account has files in "My Documents" but they are not being used
everthing is being saved to the previously deleted account.

My question is how to remove all traces of all users so as I can start over
again.

I saw something about deleting a registry key but that was for Windows NT
and frankly it sounded too easy.

If anyone has any help that would be greatl appreciated.

Create a brand new base account.
Make it an administrator.
Reboot and log in as this new user.
Copy the favorites/files you want from the old account in \Documents and
Settings\.
Delete all other named account folders from the Documents and Settings
folders.
Delete the old accounts from your Users control panel.

Don't delete "All Users", "Default User", "Local Service", "Network Service"
or the folder with the name of the account you are now logged on with. All
of those are folders that you can do nothing about.

Reboot.

Setup your new user the way you want - you should see only your folder and
the ones I listed above. Welcome to a multi-user operating system! (Note -
"administrator" may come back if you erase it - as it cannot be removed and
should not normally be used.)
