Removing adware splash screens at start / shutdown

When I boot up my computer right after the "Windows is starting up" I get a splash screen (An AD) I also get the same one when I shut down the computer. How can I manually remove these? AD Aware 6.0 will not get rid of it, and it can not be found in add/remove programs or by searching files and folders. Thank you for your help!
 
You can set Ad-Aware 6 to only operate manually. That is the way I do it. And there is an option to check to turn off the Splash screen in Configuration.
