removing a NT4 BDC from mixed mode domain

Hello, I have a W2K domain running in mixed mode. My last
NT4 BDC had hard drive failure and I now want to remove
this machine from the domain infrastructure and then go to
native mode. First of all, how to I properly remove the
NT4 BDC from the domain? I cant run dcpromo to demote it
since it has died. Is it just a matter of deleting it from
the domain using the AD Users and Computers snapin? Or
will there be issues with the other DC's trying to sync
with this now missing computer? Of course, once I go to
native mode there can't be any sync'ing to NT4 DC's, so
would that resolve that issue? Secondly, to convert to
native mode what other issues need to be addressed other
than removing all NT4 DC's? I have searched TechNet and
MSDN looking for info on such issues but haven't had any
luck. Thank you for any advice you can give me.

You can just remove the NT4 BDC account from AD Users and Computers. Make
sure this change sync to all Domain Controllers. You are now ready to raise
the domain functional level to Windows 2000 Native.
