Usually, I double-click inside a cell to edit its contents. Sometimes, I
accidentally double-click the edge of the cell - and the program jumps me to
the end of the column. Is there a way to turn this off?

-Thanks

hi,
to turn this feature off goto
tools>options>edit tag.
uncheck Edit directily in cell
you will now have to do all edits in the formula bar.
if you don't have a formula bar goto
View>formula bar.
regards
Frank

AFAIK there is no way to turn this off.

Frank's tip is incorrect for this particular problem.

If you uncheck "edit directly in cell", you will jump to any cells that are
referenced in the cell you double-click.

Tools|options|Edit Tab
Uncheck "allow cell drag and drop"

(But I'd rather have the drag and drop and live with the problem!)

Thanks Dave.

That might be what Frank S. was trying to suggest.

At least he didn't say "it can't be done" like some other dork<g>

Here's hoping that I wasn't that other dork <bg>.

I've seen too many things that I would have answered "nope" that others say
"yep" and show how!

"dork" reference was to mine ownself.

Well, it's been a while since the CQC reared its head.

Probably gunnysacking them for a giant reprimand???

Just lulling you into complacency.
And trying to find a big enough sack.

If I were Beavis or Butthead, I'd have a response. (hehehe).

Am I in trouble now?
