I need help...such that....
When I click in column D and double click a non-empty cell its contents are presented to me in input box with larger font-size 14, and when i make changes, the cell is updated with existing font-size i.e 9.

If you go to the File tab and select Options, then under the General section you can change the font size to 14. You then have to close Excel for the change to have effect, but when you re open a spreadsheet the formula bar should be bigger but the rest of the document will be the same - so when you click on a cell, the contents will be displayed in the formula bar in size 14, but the cell will remain the same. Is this what you're looking for?
