Removing a crashed DC from domain

K

Karl

One of my DC's in a W2k domain crashed and burned. I keep
getting errors in the event log about it still trying to
replicate and it is causing problems. How can I
completely remove it from AD so the other DC's stop
looking for it?

Hi Karl,

Have a link:

HOW TO: Remove Data in Active Directory After an Unsuccessful Domain
Controller Demotion

Also, if the failed domain controller held any of the FSMO roles you will
need to seize the roles to a different server using Ntdsutil (just don't put
the failed DC back on the network unless it is formatted and windows is
reinstalled - but that does not sound like an issue in your case).
