removed virtumonde with WD; internet connectivity lost

For several days, I have been battled the virtumonde virus on my home
computer. As noted other places in the forum, it can be a challenge to make
sure it is really gone. Tried many products without complete success. The
pop-up ads would come back after a re-boot in normal mode and a brief time on
IE.

Last night I installed WD. Scanned (in think in Safe mode) but found
nothing. Rebooted in Normal. Very quickly WD recognized an attack and
removed. I guessed it was good news.

As a result, I have lost internet connectivity (wired cable)through the
machine. I get no IE and no Outlook connections. Firwall/hub continuing to
provide wireless connectivity to laptop.

Where do I go from here?

Also after your Winstock LSP chain is fixed, you should definitely run a full
system scan so WD or other anti-spyware programs can remove (if any) the
DLLs that hijacked the chain.
