Remove XP partition from Toshiba

I accidentally started the installation of XP operating
system on my Toshiba laptop which has Windows Media
center edition of the OS. Halfway through, I realized the
mistake and stopped it. It has created another partition
and so when I try to boot my laptop, it asks which OS I
need to start. I want to remove the partition that has
XP. How do I do it? Can I just go to the boot menu and
delete the partition? Will I lose hard disk space if I do
that? Or do I have to complete the XP installation and
then uninstall in some place? Please help!

It might not have created another partition. You can delete everything
concerning the second installation attempt.
In order to change the boot.ini file. Rt click on MyComputer>select
Properties>Advanced>Startup and Recovery-Settings>Edit.
Remove the line that refers to the second install or somewhat safer
reduce the timeout=30 to 1. Make a copy of your boot.ini in case you
screwup.
