Reformatting C: & re-installing Win XP Pro from the Recovery CD

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5105-S702 laptop with Win XP Pro pre-installed. I
repartitioned the 60GB HDD into 4 partitions (C, D, E & F) using Partition
Magic 7. I have an ABSplus External HDD, which I partitioned & formatted
using the ABSplus Backup software, to match the laptop HDD partitions, and
these partitions were automatically assigned the corresponding drive letters
G, H, I & J.

Therefore I assigned the CD/DVD-RW drive a new drive letter "R", because I
wanted it well separated from drive letters of the Laptop HDD & ABSplus
External HDD.

If I want to (1) reformat the C: partition, and then (2) re-install Win XP
Pro on the C: partition by running the batch file OS.BAT in the /BASE
directory of the Recovery CD, what procedure would I have to follow ?

As regards reformatting the C: partition, can the Partition Magic Rescue
Diskette be used to reformat the C: partition ?

How would I run the OS.BAT batch file in the /BASE directory of the Recovery
CD ? (Toshiba supplied 2 recovery CDs with the Laptop, and these contain the
Win XP Pro and other software that was supplied pre-installed on the
Laptop).

Since I have changed it's drive letter, would I have to do anything to
ensure that the CD/DVD-RW drive is recognised ?

In a similar situation a few years ago, I recall having to change the CD-ROM
drive letter in one of the system files on the W98 boot diskette when
re-installing W98 on the reformatted C: partition of my old Laptop , but I
can't remember what it was.

Thank you
