Remove vs2005 after install vs2008 and an Xtreme problem

I have vs2005 installed on the System disk and vs2008 installed on a
different disk.

I want to remove VS2005. I read one time about some problem with
uninstalling vs2005 after vs2008 is installed but can't find the site now.
Is there a problem?

Would reinstalling vs2008 fix any problem that may occur because of
uninstalling vs2005.

If I reinstall vs2008 will I lose anything except maybe my customizations?

Any samples or other down loads stored there?

When I installed vs2008 I received a message that data source.Xtreme was not
found. Sql2005 is installed on the system disk and although I'm not using it
now expect I to. If SQL2005 needs some service running it may not be. Since
I haven't used it in a year I wouldn't know if it is running OK. Do you know
how to help vs2008 find Xtreme? Do I need sql2008 or sql2008 express?

I appreciate an answer any one of the above.

Thanks

I have, in fact, uninstalled VS2005 after installing VS2005. I did not
experience any problems, however, please do not take my experience as any
guarantee.

You can do a reinstall (fix) with VS2008 should you have any problems

Does Sql 2005 start its services at startup? You do need to set this. Also
you need to examine Sql Server surface area configuration etc.

There are four services - three are started
The Server Active Directory Helper is disabled.
Could that be the reason for the error?

Thanks
