Dan

I would like to remove some unwanted toolbars from
Internet Explorer 6. I've tried to find the toolbar in
the add/remove programs, But to no avail. I would like to
know if there is another way to do so. Just a little more
info, I am the computer administrator.

Dan,
With IE not open, run regedit and make your way to this key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\]

Export that key (as a backup.) Look at the subkeys under that Toolbar key.
Find the unwanted subkey. Note the name of an HTM/HTML file which *may* be
in
the right pane. Delete the unwanted subkey. Find and delete the HTM/HTML
file (if one was listed.)

You should also download, update and run one or both of these programs to
eliminate the type of malware which installs things like toolbars.
Spybot - Search & Destroy: http://security.kolla.de/
Ad-aware 6- Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

Dan,

Get ToolbarCop:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k

ToolbarCop removes the Toolbars, Toolbar buttons and unwanted menu-extensions from Internet Explorer. It does not remove the spyware from the system entirely.

Additionally, run Ad-Aware scan (www.lavasoftusa.com). Update Ad-Aware before scanning
