PowerPoint 2003: I never made transitions, but suddenly they were there. In
the commands window it is markd as "No Transitions" and I have clicked that
again as well as the "apply to all slides", but the transations remain. How
can I get rid of them?
Thanks

Do you have transitions or animations? Try the Slide Show Menu and
choose Custom Animation to see if any animations are present.
Alternatively, you can look at the Slide Master to see if some animation
or transition is applied there.

OK I went to that and removed them, and then played the slides. There wa one
that still had it partially so I cleared that and now the slide pop up all
at once without any intermediate partials.

Thanks.

When you say everything is greyed out, do you mean that the large white
box does not list any animations and instead says "Select an element of
the slide then click 'Add Effect' to add animation"? If it says that,
then there are no animations on the slide. However, if you have no
objects selected and something is animated (even on the slide master),
then everything will be greyed out, but objects will be listed in the
list instead of the message quoted above.

Is it No Animation highlighted or just there. It normally appears at the
top of the list. It is a bit confusing. First is the category "No
Animation" (highlighted in light blue on my computer, just like the
other category headings: subtle, moderate, ...). Underneath that is the
choice for No Animation. If I click on that, it becomes highlighted in
dark blue, meaning that that animation scheme is in effect. If it is not
selected (and highlighted in dark blue), then it is not in effect.
