remove the last/only DC in a Child domain

I am in a situation where I need remove the last/only DC in a Child domain.
I started to run DCpromo and on the first page was presented with the check
box for Is this the last domain controller in the domain. I am just
wondering since this is the last DC in the Child domain do I need to check
it? We want to keep the parent domain there just remove the child domain.
any help would be greatly appriciated.

It is the last DC in the domain. The parent is one domain and the child is
another domain.
