Removing active directory from a child domain

Hi all thanks for your help.
I have a child domain that I want to run dcpromo on to
remove the domain controller(this is the only dc in the
child domain)...I was just unsure if on the option Is
this the last dc in this domain...I did not know if it
included the parent domain or if it was talking about the
child domain.

I only want to get rid of the child domain.

Yes, when removing child domain select "this is the last dc..." in dcpromo
option. This will remove a child domain.
