Remove Read only property in Windows -XP

Dear friends i unable to remove readonly property of folder after
several attempts It I tried to security options but now way to remove
read only attribute. When i create new folder or file it gets created
or deleted or edited but when i see the property that read only check
box is again green shaded(not checked). this happens only to the
folders not to files.... I tried stapes given in Microsoft.com site
using Registry editor but it also not worked. Please help me

You can't. But don't worry - the Read Only property of a FOLDER is
completely irrelevant to anything. The files inside the folder are still
read-write.

Windows ignores folder read-only attributes.
Only file read-only attributes matter.

Thanx. I can organize all folders(Read/Write/Delete). Is it default
Read Only attribute???

Yes, the default is read-only in XP and you cannot change it.
I am not sure I can add much to the responses you have already
received but you don't really seem to grasp the idea so try this:

That is just the way that Windows displays the property information when you
right click on a folder and go to properties (call it a bug if you wish). If
you look at the same folder using a competent "file manager" program, you
would see that the read only attribute is not exhibited. It is nothing to
worry about. You can still write to and alter files within the folder - can
you not?
