Remove popup boxes

I hope I am in the correct forum.

I want to switch off the the little boxes that appear
next to the mouse pointer. I have managed to turn them
off when hovering over folders but want to extend this to
all XP applications ( inc IE )

Is this possible?

Go to The following website and scroll to line 11, left side. Click the
"Disable All" link to download the reg file. Double click the file to change
the registry setting which will disable all balloon tips.

Hi Ronnie

I have tried that but it doesn't work. I'm still getting
balloons over favourites for instance.

But thank you for your help - any other suggestions?
