The design template I chose (project psot-mortem) has a line through the top
and shading on the left of each slide. I do not want this line on one of my
slides but I do want the shading. When I chose blank slide it still has the
line. How do I get rid of the line?

Thank you!

Erica,
The line will be in the master. Go to View - Master - Slide master and see
if you can delete it there.

I only want the line gone from one slide - not all slides. When I change the
master, it takes it off all the slides.

Erica,
First possibility:
On the slide where you do not want the line, rightclick the slide, choose
background, check remove background pictures from master, click apply.
Second possibility:
Duplicate the master (Insert - duplicate master), remove the line, apply to
only the one slide using the listarrow next to the duplicated master in the
task pane.

Erica,
If you have PPT 2000 the second possibility will not be available as
multiple masters is a feature that was introduced in PPT 2002.
