Is it save to remove the i386 on a windows 2000 system?

What is it for

Thanx

Yes, you can remove it safely. While it is there, you can install
new drivers without having to reach for your Win2000 CD each
time.

Greetings --

The \i386 folder is a copy of the files needed to install the
operating system or a service pack, whose primary purpose is to save
the user the inconvenience of having to insert an OS CD each time
he/she makes changes to the OS, such as adding features. If you're
short of hard drive space, you can safely delete the folder.
