Remove hotfix backup files

In Windows CP, once I was satisfied that my system was still functioning
properly, I would remove the hotfix backup files by deleting the $*$ folder,
the kb*.log file, and remove the entry from the add/remove programs list.
Once I am satisfied with a hotfix install on Vista, how do I remove it's
backup files?

Windows CP = Windows XP.
That was a dumb typo to have missed.

This is not an issue yet, but I have come across XP systems with over 200
hotfix files that really benefited when I deleted those files and then ran a
disk cleanup and defrag.
