Remove Hardware

When "Safely Removing Hardware" was used in Windows XP, the safe to remove
window came up almost nstantaneously. Under Windows Vista, Clicking "Safely
Remove Hardware" seems to lag, especially when remooving an external hard
drive, taking up to 15 seconds for the "This device can now be safely
reoved..." window to appear. The Win XP system of removing hardware was more
efficient. Any way to improve this in Vista?

It depends on what you were doing with the hard drive. If a lot of transfers
were taking place then the the remove will delay for that activity to clear.
A memory pen may be instant while the HD may take a tad longer.
