Hi All...

I thought there was a way to clean up msconfig and remove
references to old programs/virus files rather than just
uncheck them....any help would be great.

Thanks,
JD

Hi,

There is, you need to delete the associated string in the registry. You can
find most programs in these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Run regedit and goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
