Remove Exchange...please help

I hope that someone could help me with this issue. I was working for a small
company and since I already had a laptop with office 2007 my boss decided to
put me on their exchange server so that I could check my e-mail from home. I
no longer work for the company and the problem that I am having is my outlook
is running super slow. I am no longer on the exchange server but my outlook
still tries to find it. I have removed the “e-mail†but the calendar,
contacts and tasks are still populating. What can I do to get rid of this?

Step #1, export any contents you want out of "Mailbox - <username>" folder
store. The reason why is that once you remove the exchange account from the
profile, you will not be able to access or retrieve the data within this
folder store group.

Once step #1 is done, close Outlook and then remove the Exchange account
thru the mail applet in the control panel. While working with the mail
applet, you can add a personal folder (PST) file if needed since Outlook
does require at least 1 if working with a POP3/IMAP account.
