Remove Access to Windows Update

N

Nick O'Connor

I have used the GPO to try and remove access to the
Windows Update Icon on the Start Menu. (We have a SUS
server)

However, it simply does not work. Users still have access
to it. They are picking up the GPO, I verified this by
running gpresult.

I want this icon gone, and access to the website blocked.

Any ideas why this is not working?

Check these policies:

User\administrative templates\windows components\windows update
remove access to use ...
User\administrative templates\start menu\
remove links and access to windows update
User\administrative templates\system\
windows automatic update
User\administrative templates\control panel\
hide "add programs from Microsoft"

hope it helps
