Removal of Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta 1

I downloaded and installed Windows Defenderwith no problem. It presented
itself as an upgrade for my existing sypware but installed as a stand alone
program. It did not un-install Beta 1. Can they exist together? Should Beta 1
be removed?

That was my problem. The installer did not remove MWAS. They were both
operational and tried to work at the same time. I removed Defender because of
another problem. It was causing constant unauthorized access errors in
Symantec program SYMUNDO.EXE. Until this problem is solved I don't want to
run this software.

Hello arbutusbill,
What Symantec program is this SYMUNDO.EXE file/program itself installed in??
I have Symantec Corp Ed 9 installed on my XP box and am wondering if I
install Windows Defender beta 2 if it will cause issues for me?? Would you
please tell me what Symantec program you're using AV or otherwise??

Thank you kindly,

Symundo.exe, a Norton shared file, is a part of Symantec System Works. I am
not sure what it's function is. It identifies itself as part of Norton
Utilities. Hope this helps.

Yes, it sure does since it's apart of System Works and not Symantec AV. I
sure hope that I'll be ok if I go ahead and install WD using Symantec Corp Ed
9.
I haven't read of anybody else having issues with SAV 9 anyway.

Thanks very much for the reply arbutusbill.
