Removal of existing discussion group

How may I remove (completely erradicate) an existing discussion
web from a web site? We have been hit hard by freeloaders who
publish their porn, imported drugs, etc. advertisemens, on our
message board. Recently something has happened, making it
impossible to post a Reply to any message. I suspect these
freeloaders have somehow modified one or some of the files in our
web. This may have been intended to block ordinary replies to
their posts, which would tend to be derogatory. Their posts can
still be opened, read, and I suppose one can still follow the
links given in these messages.

I want to delete the entire discussion web, then build a new one
with limited access. What is the proper way to delete and clean
up after removal of the old discussion web? What files do I need
to delete and what settings do I need to modify or clean up?

You may visit our web at http://www.okc-shhh.org if you wish. I
have deleted all the offending freeloader messages, but you can
still see what happens when you try to post a Reply. This opens
the Post New Message screen.

Open the web live and delete the offending files and folders
Turn on hidden files and folders under Tools \ site settings \ Advanced Tab
by
ticking the radio button and pressing ok ... refresh the site to see hidden
folders

Thanks, Tina, but I am still not sure which files I should
delete. I am concerned that I might delete a file, or some files
that are critical to the function of the web, and should never be
deleted.

Is there any way to identify the files that pertain to the
message board and can be deleted with no reprocussions upon the
rest of the site?

Or, what if I delete most of the old message board files but
leave one or two that should have been deleted, then find these
left-over message board files interfere with the new message
board I want to set up?

Make a new discussion web .. enabling hidden folders and files on your hd
and check which files are generated .. then delete those

Back up your original site (as always) before doing anything then you can
always go back.
