Remotely Access Event Logs

I am busy configuring a pc to monitor a windows2000 server
Unluckily I need a account with administrator rights to
Remotely Access Event Logs (to view them)
Is there another way (with a non administrator account) to
Remotely Access Event Logs?
I dont want to use an administrator account for security
reasons

In Local Security Policy there is a user rights assignment that has to do with
managing security log. You might try adding the user account that you want to use to
that setting. Normally, just the administrators group is in that setting. --- Steve

If the machine is in the network, and you have access to
the machine, you can use mmc and add the event viewer
snapin and point it to the machine you want to look at.
You will need to have access to the machine.
