remote User VPN Disconnects

I have a Windows 2000 RRAS configured for user remote access. Users can
connect and navigate the network without a problem. The issue is that they
are disconnected (whether they are idle or not) after about 60 minutes. The
logs say that the disconnection was "user requested". I have another RRAS
server running on Windows 2003 and the same users do not have this problem.
The "Idle time before hanging up" properties for the connection are set to
"never". Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
Thanks in advance.

it could be the Idle time before hanging up of the client connection settings. quoted from http://www.HowToNetworking.com

How to configure VPN or Dial-up options

1. Open Network and Dial-up Connections

2. Right-click the dial-up connection you want to configure, and then click Properties.

3. On the Options tab, in Redial attempts, click the arrows to set the number of times the dial-up connection is automatically redialed if the first attempt to connect fails.

4. In Time between redial attempts, click the arrows to set the amount of time to pause between the end of one attempt and the beginning of another.

5. In Idle time before hanging up, click the arrows to set the amount of idle time before a client hangs up a connection.

6. If you want the connection to automatically redial if the line is dropped, select the Redial if line is dropped check box.

No, the users and I both have our "Idle time before connecting" set to
"never". I can connect to my other office with the same settings and be
connected for days, it I chose to. Hopefully someone else can offer other
suggestions. Thanks.

It might also happen due to a setting on your server. Check in the remote
access policies on your server, in the 'Dial-in constraints' tab, whether
any session timeout is configured after which the clients to get
disconnected
you can see these from Start --> run --> rrasmgmt.msc --> Remote access
policies node --> doubleclick a policy --> clcik 'edit profile'
