Remote Registry Service Won't Start

Hi,

I have two laptops that have been upgraded from Windows 98
SE to Windows 2000 Professional (now running service pack
4). On both laptops the Remote Registry Service will not
start. Error message is 'Cannot start service...' it
doesn't give me any hint as to why it can't start!

There are no related entries in the Event Log.

I've changed the user account the service uses to log on,
but this has not worked.

I'd be grateful for any help.
