remote registry service Missing

I have a Win2000 Server runnung SP4. and exchange 5.5
It is missing the Remote Registry Service, which will not
allow me to manage portions of the IMC in the Exchange
Admin.

How do i reinstall this service
I tried the net start "remote registry service" to no
avail.

Please help

Are you certain that the service is missing (as opposed to being unable
to start it)? Not listed in Services.msc at all? No
%SystemRoot%\system32\regsvc.exe
file? No
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteRegistry\
