remote procedure call

I'm getting an error message on my xp laptop, generally
when i'm on our company network or the internet. things
are going fine for a few minutes and then all of a sudden
I get the message that RPC service terminated
unexpectantly and it gives me 60 seconds to save and close
things before it shuts the OS off. Can anyone help with
this?

I'm having the exact same issue!
I'm using a desktop, PII, 233 with XP. My machine started
this behavior after being shutdown in the middle of a
fresh start-up...maybe a concidence. I had also just
loaded a new DSL modem...maybe a coincidence.

Any thoughts?
