Remote Procedure Call System Shutdown message

A

Annie

After connecting to the internet for a few seconds I get a
System Shutdown message saying "Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly" and the computer
then shuts down after a few seconds.

What is RPC and how can I resolve this problem.

Hi

This is a posting from MVP Kelly Theriot:

**To stop the reboots: Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc. Scroll down
to Remote Procedure Call (RPC)/Logon/First Failure/Restart the Service.

Then close Windows Explorer, End Process in the Task Manager for
msblast.exe, run the edit on line 257 then run the patch listed below it:

I'm sorry I don't have the answer. But I am having the
same problems with the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM AND RPC FAILURE.
If someone has a fix, please post or email
me at "(e-mail address removed)".
Thank You!!
