Remote Procedure Call service terminated unexpectedly

I have recently purchased a Sony Vaio with XP home
edition as operating system. I, however, found that every
so oftem a dialog box comes up stating that "remote
procedure call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.
Shutdown initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM." Has anyone
else had similar difficulties? If so how was it resolved
if it has been resolved.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. Every so often, sometimes
five times in an hour, the computer has that message and
it reboots all by itself with a 60 second warning. So
irritating!

If you find out how to fix it please reply. My email

The reason for this is virus called msblast.exe
windows update and firewall enabled will resolve the
problem i suppose......
