remote modem

I can connect to a desktop via VPN. This computer has a dialer program that
I would like to access. If I Share this program on the desktop, I can access
it, but when it tries to dial, it tries to use my laptop modem.
Is there a way to access this program and use the modem remotely??
FYI Laptop: XP Pro
Desktop: Win2k

No, I don't think so - but if you were to either upgrade your desktop to XP
Pro and use Remote Desktop, or use third party stuff like VNC, etc., you
could get a remote console session going & connect that way.

The company IT Group is using something called UNC(unified remote control) to
access various OS's but I dont know anything about it. I have tried to use
UltraVNC but it doesn't work.

thanks
