remote install XP on AMD motherboard from XP?

I got this AMD machine for free. kid did not want it anymore cuz he
couldn't get the monitor to work. I said i would use it for parts if
he wanted to get rid of it. it is not a bad machine. i could really
use it if i could somehow install XP on it. or maybe a different OS.
i really just want to use it for storage. i have a 400 GB harddrive i
would like to hookup to it and use for storage. i would like to use XP
pro on my other machine though and either remote in or share it on my
network. any ideas.
 
So the monitor is bad? Are you getting any video signal at all? Have
you tested any of the components or tried to troubleshoot the problem?
