Remote help problems

Zadig Galbaras

Hi!

I'm trying to learn how this feature with remote support works in XP.
I have set up two pc's here at home over a wireless network and it worked
fine.

Tried this evening to establish at connection over the internet to a friend
of mine, but it didn't work.
I had him download and install the latest version of WINDOWS Messenger v.5.1
but in vain.
We both are running a modern pc with WinXP Pro installed.
We both are connected to the net via an ADSL line.

Is this a firewall problem?
We both use the firewall that is residing in the wireless router, and
nothing else.
I use also Microsoft Antispyware, but that shouldn't have anything to say,
now should it?

Hi,

Both systems should have port forwarding in the router set to forward port
3389 from the outside world to the internal IP of the machine being used or
accessed.
