Turn off delete confirmation...

Zadig Galbaras

Hi!

I need, in order to save a few mouse clicks, to turn off the confirmation
dialog box when copying or deleting av file.

How do I do that in WinXP Pro SP2?

I can't seem to find it in Powertoys or in Services!

Displaying the confirmation dialog is Global setting for all files
and folders. Right Click "Recycle Bin" - Left Click Properties.
You'll find the option box there.

Thank you, that took care of the deletion conformation
I thought maybe it would take care of the real problem, bu no it didn't.

When I drag and drop a link from my MSIE to a folder in my Windows Explorer,
and get an dialog box asking me if I want to copy or move files from this
zone, and I have to click yes every time.
Is there a way to turn this alert off?

Use the left mouse button...

When dragging a file in Explorer, you can control the operation that will be
performed when you release the mouse button:

Hold the Control key to force a Copy.

Hold the Shift key to force a Move.

Hold the Alt key to force a Create Shortcut.

Hi...
Thank you for taken you time to ehlp me out here folks...!

But Mr Vogels advice do not help.
I tried them all.
Remember, this is to copy a shortcut from my browser into a folder in the
Eplorer, not from another folder within the Explorer, without getting a
dialog box aksing if I really want to copy or move from this zone.
I still have a few hundred to go, so I appreciate all the help I can get.

Zadig,

To select multiple files and folders:

To select consecutive files or folders, click the first item, press and hold
down SHIFT and then click the last item.

To select nonconsecutive files or folders, press and hold down CTRL and
then click each item.

To select all the files and folders in the window, CTRL + A.

After files have been selected, to unselect individual files, press and hold
down CTRL and then click each item.
