Remote Desktop

I'm going to go nuts. I VPN into work all the time. All of a sudden,
2 days ago I cannot connect to my computer. I am running Vista 32
Home. I am running XP Pro at work. The VPN connects, but when I
attempt to log into my computer, it just sits there with the blue
screen and the small window dialog for about 20 seconds, then closes.

The PC Tech guy was able to Remote Desktop into my computer from his,
but I can not longer do it from here.

So, before I toss it out the window and go MAC, any suggestions? I
did a system restore from 2 weeks ago, and no luck there either.

Are you sure the problem is at your end? Perhaps there
was a change in policies which does not allow your scenario.

Also, any changes inyour router's configuration? A change
of IP address?

Just a thought. Regards, Saga

Very strange. I went and shut down my computer at work and it says
"That is another user logged on.". So, I guess one of the
connections did not close properly?? Is there any way to prevent
this from happening again?

Did your IP decide to block VPN (unless you pay for a business account?)

How would getting a MAC resolve your problem?? I have had clients go out and
get a MAC and then I had to explain to them some of their hardware and
software was not compatible with their new expensive MAC. Next week I have
to go to a client because his MAC computer crashed and he had to get a new
computer and needs to access the server again.

Sometimes you may need to have computer restarted in such situations. When
you are done with your RDP session it is best to "logoff" rather than
disconnect which may help resolve the problem.
