remote desktop - where is it

When I try to install from the xp disk, it says i already have it. Its not
in my menu anywhere- whats up. Im stuck at this point

Usually it's under all programs/accessorites/communications

Or, start/run mstsc.exe

Enable it at Control Panel - System - Remote (lower section)
 
Should be here:
Start - All Programs - Accessories - Communications - Remote Desktop.

Or, here is the path to the executable:
%SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe

That is starting the connection on the 'user' machine - I was thinking
in terms of the enabling of it on the 'controlled' one. Looking back at
the OP, I'm not sure which is relevant
