Remote Desktop problem, home network

Schemer

Hello,

I have 3 computers (all WinXP) connected to my NetGear router.
RemoteDesktop connections that work:
A->B
C->A
C->B

Neither A nor B can connect to C. On computer C, Windows Firewallis
configured to allow RD.
When I use the portqry tool, I get:
TCP port 3389 (unknown service): NOT LISTENING
portqry.exe -n 192.168.0.253 -e 3389 -p TCP exits with return code
0x00000001.

What's going on?
TIA for suggestions...

Do you have Remote Desktop enabled on C?

Is the Terminal Services service started on C?

Weird. Control Panel->System->Remote tab, Remote Assistance is listed,
but Remote Desktop is not...
Why would that be?

Yes, TS service is running.

That sounds like C is running XP Home. Go to "Start -> Run" and run the
"winver" command to verify what version of XP your running on C. XP Home can
*NOT* act as a Remote Desktop host only as a client, which is working for
you. An alternative is to use UltraVNC. Download the server, viewer,
encryption plug-in and video driver from...

Thanks for the reply. The computer is indeed running XP Home; I inherited
it and assumed it was running Professional...
