Remote Desktop - Printer Redirection - Question

Hello,
I've been using Remote Destop at home accessing my work
computer. I've been able to print to my local printer just fine.

Now I have also setup remote desktop on my laptop at home.
My laptop access the internet through a Linksys Wireless
router. I've share my printer on my desktop machine, which
shows up and prints just fine from my laptop going through
the wireless router. Trouble is, when I'm using remote
desktop on my laptop accessing my work computer, and try
to print, it does not work. What do I have to do to get
Remote Desktop to print to a local-networked- printer?

You write "When I'm using remote desktop on my laptop,
it does not work." You need to tell us exactly why it does
not work and what happens when you try. Remember that
we cannot see your machine!

I apologize for not being more detailed.

When I'm on my desktop at home. I login to
my computer at work using remote desktop.
When I go to print I have the choice on printers
for my local HP LaserJet 4 or the printer at work
which is a HP LaserJet 1022. It will print to the
LaserJet4 just fine.

If I'm using my laptop normally, when I print
I have the choice of the (networked)HP LaserJet4. (The printer
is physically connected to the desktop and is shared)
If I log into my computer at work through Remote Desktop, When
I go to print, the HP LaserJet4 is not among the choices. Only the
LaserJet 1022, and the document will print on that printer just fine,
but I need it to print here at home.

In the Remote Desktop Connection window, under options
I did make sure on the Local Resources tab, under Local devices,
that printers was checked. (Same exact configuration as the desktop)

The printer re-direction is not working on the laptop. I figure it has
something to do with my local network. (My local printer being
networked to the laptop)
Under Help is says this:
"Depending on the policies of your network, local printer mapping
might be disabled for some or all remote connections."

Printer mapping?? Is that like Drive mapping?
I don't see anywhere to map a printer, but I have
a feeling that might work.

This makes it a lot clearer!

You can check if your Remote Desktop settings are correct by
installing the driver for an HP LJ 4L on your home PC. There is
no need to physically connect an HP LJ 4L. If the printer is visible
under Remote Desktop then your Remote Desktop settings are
OK.

To make your LaserJet 4 visible under a Remote Desktop session,
install its driver on your office PC. Again there is no need to
physically connect the printer.

Many multi-function printers use a DOT4 port, which is not
supported under Remote Desktop. However, I do not think any
of the HP 4 LaserJets are DOT4 printers.
